Announcement from No Borders Iceland: two people to court

Tomorrow, July 2nd, at 09:45 two people who participated in a sit-in in the ministry of justice the 5th of April 2019 are being taken to court by the Icelandic state, pressed with charges of “disobeying police orders”.

The sit-in was one action out of many diverse action led by migrants seeking international protection and their allies, to fight for 5 different things:

  1. the end of all deportations
  2. substantial review of cases for all
  3. equal access to healthcare
  4. the right to work
  5. An end to the social isolation of refugees.

We urge people to show up in solidarity with the two at 09:30 in front of the municipal courthouse of Reykjavík.
