Tomorrow, July 2nd, at 09:45 two people who participated in a sit-in in the ministry of justice the 5th of April 2019 are being taken to court by the Icelandic state, pressed with charges of “disobeying police orders”.
The sit-in was one action out of many diverse action led by migrants seeking international protection and their allies, to fight for 5 different things:
- the end of all deportations
- substantial review of cases for all
- equal access to healthcare
- the right to work
- An end to the social isolation of refugees.
We urge people to show up in solidarity with the two at 09:30 in front of the municipal courthouse of Reykjavík.
