Share onion seeds / Deilum fræjum af lauk
Feb 18 @ 16:00 – 19:00

Deilum fræjum af lauk / Share onion seeds

Við pöntum saman fræ, kynnumst Vistræktarfélagi Íslands og notum tækifærið til að læra hvort af öðru. / We order seeds together, get to know The Icelandic Permaculture Association and use the day to learn from each other.

Grunngildi vistræktar eru: gætum jarðar, gætum fólks og skiptum rétt. / Ethics of Permaculture are: earth care, people care and fair share.

Við gætum fólks m.a. með því að að versla við eigendarekin fyrirtæki eins og Johnnys seeds og gerum einstaklingum kleyft að rækta lauka gerða fyrir norðlægar breiddargráður. / People care
by shopping with employee-owned companies like Johnnys seeds and allow people to grow onions for northernly latitudes.

Við gætum jarðar m.a. með því að skapa þekkingarsamfélag um ferla náttúrunnar, ein besta leiðin er að sá fræjum. / Earth care by creating a knowledge community about cycles of nature, one of the best ways is to sow seeds.

Við skiptum rétt með því að styðja við verðmæta samkomustaði, þess vegna fer hluti því sem fólk borgar fyrir fræin til Andrýmis. / Fair share by supporting valuable social spaces, therefore a part of the price of the seeds goes to Andrými.

Feb 18 @ 20:00 – 21:30

An open evening for folk from the bdsm community (or those interested) to get together hang out and work on crafting ideas.

Access to the House

There is a step before the garden gate and then 5 steps leading to the main entrance, each 17 cm high, door widths in the building vary between 50 cm (upstairs washroom door) and 80 cm (entrance door).

The bathrooms are so far only on the upper floor and in the basement. The door to the meeting room is 75 cm wide (as most other doors in the building). There is no bathroom on the ground floor.

Both washrooms in the building are gender neutral, there are name tags and pronoun buttons by the entrance.

The kids room on the second floor can be used for childcare or as a calm space for people who need to be able to opt out of events and  minimize input (sound, light, people).

Tónlistasamspil / Folk Session
Feb 20 @ 20:00 – 23:45
This is one of the weekly sessions for folk music in Reykjavík – there will be drinks provided and all donations collected will go to funding Andrými. If you know what a session is, come and bring songs and tunes (if you have them)! If not, read on.

This session is the only one currently in Iceland but it’s a really common format throughout the English and Gaelic-speaking world and in lots of parts of Europe and probably lots of other places too. The idea is that people come with unamplified music and songs and dances and then do them with other people, usually in a common style. Because we are quite international, most commonly you’ll hear Irish music and songs, and also from Iceland, Scandinavia, Britain, North America and Europe.

These days (since the 1960s), usually a session will happen in a pub, or sometimes a house. It’s not like a concert because it’s not a performance and there’s not really an audience, though there are often people that just come to listen or chat and maybe join in with some singing if they’re feeling that way inclined. It’s also not like a jam session because there are set songs and tunes which all the people participating will know, or are learning. If you want to learn some of these, there’s lots to help you at https://www.facebook.com/groups/RVKsession.

If you don’t play or have a song to bring you’re more than welcome to come and hang out with your friends, and talking, drinking etc. is encouraged during the music – the more atmosphere the better. Sometimes everyone might be quiet to listen to a solo singer. Often you’ll be able to pick up the choruses to the songs and are welcome to join in.

Andrými’s safer space workshop
Feb 23 @ 17:00 – 19:00

Monday, 27th of January at 18.00 we will provide a training to everyone interested in making andrými a safer space.

Come over if you would like to learn how to support other people in the space, react to conflicts, get to know more about the work in our solidarity teams during bigger events or better understand why we have created the space.

If you already use the space, either organising within/with your group, either as a participant, you are even more encourage to get to know how to support other participants in the space and provide a safer space for all. Andrými is open due to you, then let’s get together and talk about (why is) our radical social centre in town 🙂

In other words – if you like andrými as it is and want to help us make sure that the people feel welcome, taken care of and safe here and on top of that – get some useful skills – drop in
