An event organised by the group Vegan Cooking in Iceland.
Last Friday of the month cooking/eating/meeting. November 2018 theme: Baked Potatoes.
We will join together to enjoy baked potatoes. These can take whatever form we would like, as long as they are vegan! Please bring as many already baked potatoes as you and who you come with need, and one topping to be shared. We can heat up all our potatoes together in the oven to maximize deliciousness, but there won´t be enough time to eat if our potatoes need to be baked at andrými.
if you have any food intolerances or preferences- or don’t -let’s plan ahead to make sure there are some options that will suit everyone.
Accessibility:
The building is currently not wheelchair accessible, unfortunately, but it is our top priority to cultivate a wheelchair accessible space. This is a continuing goal of the organizers of Andrými.
There is a step before the garden gate and then 5 steps leading to the main entrance, each 17 cm high, door widths in the building vary between 50 cm (upstairs washroom door) and 80 cm (entrance door), and the washrooms are so far only on the upper floor and in the basement. The door to the meeting room is 75 cm wide (as most other doors in the building).
Both washrooms in the building are gender neutral.
The space is child-friendly with both indoor and outdoor play areas, and children are welcome!
This Sunday we will pick up the lost tradition of the Radical Movie Club to share an interesting documentary!
On Sunday evening, we provide a relaxing way to finish your weekend and start your week with some things to think about: movie screenings in the big and comfy room of Andrými! We want to share interesting / political / unknown / all-time favorite / random movies and spend some good time watching them and talking about them. For everyone who wants to escape a bit from life while learning a few things at the same time!
This time, we are going to screen the documentary “Mr. Gaga”, released in 2015 by Tomer Heymann about the Israeli contemporary dancer and choreographer Ohad Naharin, who developed Gaga, a movement language and pedagogy that has defined his company’s training and continues to characterize Israeli contemporary dance.
“Ohad Naharin, artistic director of the Batsheva Dance Company, is regarded as one of the most important choreographers in the world. Meeting him at a critical turning point in his personal life, this spirited and insightful documentary will introduce you to a man with great artistic integrity and an extraordinary vision. Filmed over a period of eight years, director Tomer Heymann mixes intimate rehearsal footage with an extensive unseen archive and breathtaking dance sequences.
This story of an artistic genius who redefined the language of modern dance is guaranteed to leave you skipping.”
The movie will be in English with German subtitles. There are short parts in the film that are spoken in Hebrew, in these parts we will provide a simultaneous interpretation to English.
Andrými is a radical social center and a community where values of equality and freedom are fought for. It’s purpose is to be an open space for grassroot groups and individuals to meet and organise.
If you like to know more about us, please check out what we stand for.

The building is currently not wheelchair accessible, but it is our top priority to make it so and we are working on getting city approval to make changes to the building. There is a step before the garden gate and then 5 steps leading to the main entrance, each 17 cm high, door widths in the building vary between 50 cm (upstairs washroom door) and 80 cm (entrance door).
The bathrooms are so far only on the upper floor and in the basement. The door to the meeting room is 75 cm wide (as most other doors in the building). There is no bathroom on the ground floor. The washrooms are on the upper floor and in the basement. They are gender neutral, and have both adult and child-sized toilets and sinks.

Monthly workshop session led by members of Kvæðamannafélið Iðunn, the organisation set up to preserve and pass on the singing traditons of Iceland (see http://rimur.is/?page_id=367). The aim of the sessions is to learn, practise and share traditional Icelandic folk songs, for example tvísöngur. We will also welcome people from other singing traditions to share their songs. The sessions are open to all. No previous singing experience is necessary. Songs will be taught ‘by ear’, with some notation available for people who find it helpful.
We will make every effort to accommodate everyone who comes. In particular, we are aware that some people are nervous about singing in ‘public’ situations. We will make every effort to make the sessions welcoming and supportive of everyone attending.

Trans-organised event, a safe space for trans & questioning people only. Nonbinary trans folks and intersex people who identify as trans are especially welcome to come!
Second Friday of every month5-9 PM (AND in the same week as the support group on second Tue of every month, if the weeks are different), the radical social space Andrými hosts an independently organised trans social — a non-structured drop-in time for trans and questioning folks to meet up and chat, use the resources in the house (anarchist library Andspyrna, printer, wood and bike workshop…), create art or organise. Great opportunity to make new friends and chat or to have a relaxing quiet time on your own.
This is a closed event — the whole house is reserved for the trans social.

In the last years the political theatre became a strong scene in Romania. This will be a short presentation about the radical political movement around the main theatre and art groups/spaces/magazines/platforms. The scene is growing bigger and its influences must be acknowledged. Art has to be instrumentalised!
