Do you want to be a part of Andrými’s volunteer team that takes care of the Communitydrop-in hours?
Sunday 24th of February at 1pm everybody who’s interested is welcome in Andrými where we’ll meet to introduce how the drop-in works and welcome new volunteers.
Andrými has opening hours or drop-in where people can stop by, have a coffee, get introduced to the space and use the facilities outside of organised events. The drop-in hours are Mondays 7-20, Tuesdays 13-18, Fridays 12-20 and Sundays 10-13. Children and families are especially welcome on Sundays.
To make this possible there are volunteers who open the house and are present during this time.
The setup works in the way that there’s a document where you can fill in your name at the times you’d like to take care of the drop-in. It can be varying; this week you’d like to to Sunday and two weeks later you want to do Tuesday or you can have a fixed time f.x. every Tuesday afternoon. It’s up to you!
Come by on Sunday even if you’re unsure or just curious ;). The set-up will be further introduced there.
Accessibility: The building is currently not wheelchair accessible, unfortunately.
There is a step before the garden gate and then 5 steps leading to the main entrance, each 17 cm high, door widths in the building vary between 50 cm (upstairs washroom door) and 80 cm (entrance door), and the washrooms are so far only on the upper floor and in the basement. The door to the meeting room is 75 cm wide (as most other doors in the building).
Both washrooms in the building are gender neutral.

þann 24. mars fyrir framan Alþingishúsið!
Reykjavík Whale Save skipuleggur mótmæli eftir að sjávarútvegsráðherra Kristján Þór Júlíusson samþykkti áframhaldandi veiðar á langreyði og hrefnu til ársins 2023.
Við viljum mótmæla með skiltum sem munu vekja athygli þingmanna, íslendinga, ferðamanna og fjölmiðla. Takmarkað magn af efni verður til staðar fyrir skiltagerð en vinsamlegast taktu með eigin efni (málning, tússpennar, viður, efni, osfrv.) ef þú hefur tök á því.

Join us in creating signs for the Anti-Whaling protest on the 24th of
March in front of the parliament!
After the Minister of Fisheries Kristján Þór Júlíusson has approved the hunting of fin whales and minke whales until 2023, Reykjavík Whale Save will organise an Anti-whaling protest on the 24th of March in front of the parliament.
For the protest we need to make signs and banners that will attract the attention of governors, locals and tourists, as well as the media. A limited amount of materials for the signs will be available, but please bring your own materials (paint, markers, wood, fabric, etc.) if you can.
Accessibility:
The event is accessible for people with disabilities, however it is not wheelchair accessible due to the stairs leading to the entrance and the basement.
An independent event organised by Sea Shepherd.
Workshop on fish and shark !
After the success of our first workshop on marine mammals Sea Shepherd Iceland has decided to continue this collaboration with scientists! The second workshop will be dedicated to fish and sharks.
Agenda :
Friday 29/03 : 19:00 to 20:00
Pr. Steven Campana : Shark bycatch complicates shark science, management and conservation
Saturday 30/09 : 10:00 to 13:00
Gotje Von Leesen : Impact of climate change on cod in Iceland (Maybe one more talk on fish stock management in Iceland)
This workshop is dedicated to Sea Shepherd members and other environmental activists in order to learn how to talk about fish and sharks, their roles in the marine ecosystems, their threats and about tools scientists can use to follow them.
This event is free of charge but, due to the limited seats available, prior registration is essential. Please contact us by email at iceland@seashepherdglobal.org or by sending us a message on messenger.
– Accessibility:
The building is currently not wheelchair accessible, unfortunately, but it is our top priority to cultivate a wheelchair accessible space. This is a continuing goal of the organizers of Andrými.
