The “Nonhuman Soundscapes” workshop proposal
o!ers a unique exploration of soundscape creation from non-human entities
in our surroundings. It aims to challenge conventional understanding of
sound and prompt a more in-depth exploration of the sonic potential of
everyday objects. In this proposed workshop, we intend to demonstrate
various techniques for harnessing, adapting, and innovating with diverse
tools to capture and document the “hidden sounds” within daily objects. Every
participant will have the opportunity to bring their own chosen objects, and
under guidance, learn how to record, extract, overlay, and re-edit the sounds.
Andrými’s kitchen will be occupied by people preparing for a fundraising dinner in solidarity with the people of Gaza who are currently fighting for their lives in face of genocide conducted by the Israeli state.
The dinner will take place in Hallveigarstaðir, Túngata 14 on thursday 16th of November from 17:00
