In this workshop day, hosted by SEEDS Iceland long term volunteers, we learn why it is important to be aware of what power lies in the photographic documentation of events and people, the philosophy behind photography and how to photograph in black and white. Moreover, we learn how to do visual storytelling.
14:00 – Kristin Reynisdóttir (Antirasistarnir): Lecture on Anti-racism and white saviorism.
15:30 – Iðunn Andrésdóttir: Open discussion about activism and media
Sunday 18th of February, Kristín Reynisdóttir and Iðunn Andrésdóttir will bring their input to increase knowledge of issues related to solidarity with people on the move. The event will be in English.
The event will be cost free but all donations towards Andrými rent are welcome.
A short workshop meant for those who want to organise in Andrými. The workshop has two parts:
Reflect upon what it means to be responsible and accommodating in a radical social space and what the notion of a safer space can mean for different people.
Reviewing all major material safety factors (locations of first aid kits, fire extinguishers and emergency exists etc. …)
The safer space workshop goes over the responsibilities that come with opening the house and taking care of the space. A short overview of key values and guidelines will be followed by a discussion about possible scenarios and solutions as well as a walk-through of the house.
Come over if you would like to learn how to support other people in the space, react to conflicts, get to know more about the work in our solidarity teams during bigger events or better understand why we have created the space.
If you’re already using the space, either organising within/with your group or as a participant, you’re encouraged to get to know how to support other people and build a safer space for all.
Andrými is open due to you, then let’s get together and talk about our radical social centre in town. Learn how to build a community where people feel welcome and safe.

“Torrijas Day” is an event that came up from the excessive waste produced by leftover foods, mainly bread and pastries. We are gonna offer free Torrijas (Spanish French Toast) to all the people passing by, giving informations about Andrymi as a free space of expression and protection, and about us SEEDs as an organization.
SEEDS an Icelandic non-profit organisation made to promote interculturality, environmental protection and awareness through volunteering. We come from ALL the world in Iceland to make a change.
This event points to awareness on food waste and interculturality, as our team is from all over the world!
(Private event – closed for organisers in Andrými)

As the days grow shorter our need for rest and attentive care grows stronger. We would like to warmly welcome you to a day of care and hibernation exploring what it means to create a bear cave, soothe our nerves and explore care practices.
Everyone is welcome!
Admission is free
