Pepp Ísland og Sumarborgin 2020 bjóða upp á Sumarsamveru í Mjóddinni og hefst verkefnið mánudaginn 29. júní 2020 og stendur yfir til 21. ágúst eða í samtals 8 vikur.
Verkefnið snýst um að rjúfa félagslega einangrun í kjölfar Covid en félagsleg einangrun hefur komið ansi illa við marga jaðarhópa s.s. fólk sem ekki stendur vel félagslega eða fjárhagslega.
Sumarsamvera er styrkt af Reykjavíkurborg en sjálfboðaliðar á vegum Pepp halda utan um það og gera hugmyndina að veruleika.
Sumarsamvera er haldin í húsnæði Hjálpræðishersins í Mjódd, að Álfabakka 12 og verður opið þar alla virka daga á milli kl 11:00 og 15:00 og verður kaffihúsastemning á staðnum en boðið er upp á kaffi og meðlæti, fólki að kostnaðarlausu, til að tryggja að enginn þurfi að neita sér um að kíkja í kaffi og hitta annað fólk.
Markmiðið er að fólk geti droppað við, fengið sér kaffi og spjallað, prjónað eða föndrað á staðnum allt eftir behag eða farið í göngutúr saman en leit stendur yfir að einhverjum sem gæti tekið að sér að skipuleggja stuttar göngur.
Við fögnum þeim sem vilja taka þátt og gerast sjálfboðaliðar og aðstoða okkur við þetta frábæra verkefni.

PeP Iceland (Pepp Ísland) and Sumarborgin 2020 (The Summer City 2020) invite you to join us in our project Sumarsamvera (Summer gathering) in Mjódd, starting on Monday the 29th of June, which will carry on for the duration of 8 weeks.
The aim of the project is to break social isolation in the wake of Covid 19, but many marginalized groups have been heavily affected, especially those who are socially and financially vulnerable.
The Summer gathering is funded by the City of Reykjavík, but run by volunteers from PeP Iceland, who will be organizing and hosting the project.
The summer gathering will be held at the location of the Salvation Army in Mjódd, Álfabakki 12, and will be open every weekday from 11:00 till 15:00. The atmosphere will be that of a cafe, where people can come for coffee and snacks without having to pay. The aim is to ensure that despite having little money, people can still go for coffee and be in the company of other people.
The aim is to allow people to drop by, have coffee, talk, knit or do some kind of craft or other activities offered on location, or to go for walks or hikes together, if anyone would be interested in organizing and hosting such activities. We welcome anyone willing to volunteer or assist us with this project.

PePs (Pepparar) are people who have personally experienced poverty and social exclusion and work to increase solidarity between people experiencing poverty. In collaboration with Reykjavík Art Festival, we proudly announce post-dreifing’s takeover of the 2020 Reykjavík Art Festival Club in Iðnó.
For us involved with post-dreifing, the summer got off to a slower start than we had previously pictured – with the tense situation in society we had to postpone our yearly music festival, HÁTÍÐNI, to 2021. But when one door is shut a new one often opens up, and this year (on their fiftieth anniversary) Reykjavík Art Festival came knocking. We take the club-theme very seriously and plan to turn Iðnó into a true hub of the local underground; an International Big Party Post-Club.
We’ll host a diverse schedule in Iðnó over the first two weeks of July – workshops, music-events, poetry readings, performances, screenings, exhibitions and more. The workshops will play a big part here and the idea behind them is to invite those interested to take part in the many different aspects of post-dreifing’s countless projects, focusing equally on creative processes and organizational work. As some might know, post-dreifing’s ideological foundation is based on a so-called DIT (Do-It-Together) approach. In harmony with those values the project’s primary goal is knowledge sharing – and hopefully inspiring people to start creating themselves.
It is very dear to our collective to get a platform at Reykjavík Art Festival to share our experiences and the creative products of those who work within it – to introduce our project and hopefully have a ton of fun. We can’t wait to welcome you all to the club.

This time A-byssó presents Sisters in arms – Militant feminism in Germany.
Discussion and screening of the film Die Rote Zora tracing the herstory of the Rote Zora, a revolutionary feminist liberation movement in Germany active from 1975 until around 1995. By means of militant resistance, the group wanted to do away with all repression, be it directed at women or of a general nature. It did not see the use of force against women as exceptional but as a universal principle of domination. It thus linked the struggle against patriarchy and sexist violence with the struggle against social power relations and society in the Republic of Germany. It was not interested in obtaining power but in limiting authority to ultimately bring about a society without domination.
The group committed a series of bombing and arson attacks against our enemies, including individuals and organizations thought to be involved with sexism, the exploitation of women, genetic engineering, the enforcement of patriarchal society, nuclear power and the anti-abortion movement.
The film Die Rote Zora presents interviews with a few women of Rote Zora where they talk about their experiences, actions and ideas.
Discussions will be in English. The film is in German with English subtitles.

A few icelandic people/youths meeting up and teaching non-icelandic friends some basic icelandic (everyone welcome though). We will be doing them a few times a week but at different time or day each time, follow the website calendar for updates!
Accessibility:
There is a step before the garden gate and then 5 steps leading to the main entrance, each 17 cm high, door widths in the building vary between 50 cm (upstairs washroom door) and 80 cm (entrance door).
The bathrooms are so far only on the upper floor and in the basement. The door to the meeting room is 75 cm wide (as most other doors in the building). There is no bathroom on the ground floor.
Both washrooms in the building are gender neutral. The event takes place upstairs.

The aim is to ensure that despite having little money, people can still go for coffee and be in the company of other people.
The aim is to allow people to drop by, have coffee, talk, knit or do some kind of craft or other activities offered on location, or to go for walks or hikes together, if anyone would be interested in organizing and hosting such activities. We welcome anyone willing to volunteer or assist us with this project.

The aim is to create a positive and solution-based environment to empower those experiencing poverty and social exclusion to be their own spokespeople wherever and whenever necessary.
We want to form alliances with other organizations, municipalities, institutions, government and the media to increase our involvement in our communities and general society. We also want direct involvement in decision making regarding the issues that affect us and be consulted and involved when those issues are being discussed and decided on.

Í samstarfi við Listahátíð í Reykjavík kynnum við stolt yfirtöku post-dreifingar á Klúbbi Listahátíðar 2020 í Iðnó.
Sumarið okkar í post-dreifingu fór hægar af stað en við höfðum séð fyrir okkur – vegna ástandsins í samfélaginu urðum við að fresta hinni árlegu tónlistarhátíð HÁTÍÐNI fram til ársins 2021. En þegar einar dyr lokast opnast gjarnan aðrar, og í ár (á fimmtugasta afmælisári sínu) var það Klúbbur Listahátíðar í Reykjavík sem bankaði upp á. Við tökum klúbbaþemað grafalvarlega og ætlum að breyta Iðnó í sannkallaða miðstöð grasrótarinnar; alþjóðlegan stórveislu-post-klúbb.
Við munum fyrir vikið standa fyrir fjölbreyttri dagskrá í Iðnó fyrstu tvær vikurnar í júlí – m.a. vinnusmiðjum, tónlistarviðburðum, ljóðaupplestrum og sýningum á myndbandsverkum. Hugmyndin með vinnusmiðjunum er að bjóða áhugasömum að taka þátt í hinum ýmsu hliðum þeirra verkefna sem post-dreifing stendur fyrir og taka fyrir jafnt það sem tengist skapandi ferlum og skipulagsstarfi. Eins og sum vita, byggist hugmyndafræðilegur grundvöllur post-dreifingar á svokallaðri DIT-nálgun (Do-It-Together, eða gerum-það-saman). In collaboration with Reykjavík Art Festival, we proudly announce post-dreifing’s takeover of the 2020 Reykjavík Art Festival Club in Iðnó.
For us involved with post-dreifing, the summer got off to a slower start than we had previously pictured – with the tense situation in society we had to postpone our yearly music festival, HÁTÍÐNI, to 2021. But when one door is shut a new one often opens up, and this year (on their fiftieth anniversary) Reykjavík Art Festival came knocking. We take the club-theme very seriously and plan to turn Iðnó into a true hub of the local underground; an International Big Party Post-Club.
We’ll host a diverse schedule in Iðnó over the first two weeks of July – workshops, music-events, poetry readings, performances, screenings, exhibitions and more. The workshops will play a big part here and the idea behind them is to invite those interested to take part in the many different aspects of post-dreifing’s countless projects, focusing equally on creative processes and organizational work. As some might know, post-dreifing’s ideological foundation is based on a so-called DIT (Do-It-Together) approach. In harmony with those values the project’s primary goal is knowledge sharing – and hopefully inspiring people to start creating themselves.
It is very dear to our collective to get a platform at Reykjavík Art Festival to share our experiences and the creative products of those who work within it – to introduce our project and hopefully have a ton of fun. We can’t wait to welcome you all to the club.

This time A-byssó presents Sisters in arms – Militant feminism in Germany.
Discussion and screening of the film Die Rote Zora tracing the herstory of the Rote Zora, a revolutionary feminist liberation movement in Germany active from 1975 until around 1995. By means of militant resistance, the group wanted to do away with all repression, be it directed at women or of a general nature. It did not see the use of force against women as exceptional but as a universal principle of domination. It thus linked the struggle against patriarchy and sexist violence with the struggle against social power relations and society in the Republic of Germany. It was not interested in obtaining power but in limiting authority to ultimately bring about a society without domination.
The group committed a series of bombing and arson attacks against our enemies, including individuals and organizations thought to be involved with sexism, the exploitation of women, genetic engineering, the enforcement of patriarchal society, nuclear power and the anti-abortion movement.
The film Die Rote Zora presents interviews with a few women of Rote Zora where they talk about their experiences, actions and ideas.
Discussions will be in English. The film is in German with English subtitles.

PeP Iceland (Pepp Ísland) and Sumarborgin 2020 (The Summer City 2020) invite you to join us in our project Sumarsamvera (Summer gathering) in Mjódd, starting on Monday the 29th of June, which will carry on for the duration of 8 weeks.
The aim of the project is to break social isolation in the wake of Covid 19, but many marginalized groups have been heavily affected, especially those who are socially and financially vulnerable.
The Summer gathering is funded by the City of Reykjavík, but run by volunteers from PeP Iceland, who will be organizing and hosting the project.
The summer gathering will be held at the location of the Salvation Army in Mjódd, Álfabakki 12, and will be open every weekday from 11:00 till 15:00. The atmosphere will be that of a cafe, where people can come for coffee and snacks without having to pay. The aim is to ensure that despite having little money, people can still go for coffee and be in the company of other people.
The aim is to allow people to drop by, have coffee, talk, knit or do some kind of craft or other activities offered on location, or to go for walks or hikes together, if anyone would be interested in organizing and hosting such activities. We welcome anyone willing to volunteer or assist us with this project.

PePs (Pepparar) are people who have personally experienced poverty and social exclusion and work to increase solidarity between people experiencing poverty. The aim is to create a positive and solution-based environment to empower those experiencing poverty and social exclusion to be their own spokespeople wherever and whenever necessary.
We want to form alliances with other organizations, municipalities, institutions, government and the media to increase our involvement in our communities and general society. We also want direct involvement in decision making regarding the issues that affect us and be consulted and involved when those issues are being discussed and decided on.

Verkefnið snýst um að rjúfa félagslega einangrun í kjölfar Covid en félagsleg einangrun hefur komið ansi illa við marga jaðarhópa s.s. fólk sem ekki stendur vel félagslega eða fjárhagslega.
Sumarsamvera er styrkt af Reykjavíkurborg en sjálfboðaliðar á vegum Pepp halda utan um það og gera hugmyndina að veruleika.
Sumarsamvera er haldin í húsnæði Hjálpræðishersins í Mjódd, að Álfabakka 12 og verður opið þar alla virka daga á milli kl 11:00 og 15:00 og verður kaffihúsastemning á staðnum en boðið er upp á kaffi og meðlæti, fólki að kostnaðarlausu, til að tryggja að enginn þurfi að neita sér um að kíkja í kaffi og hitta annað fólk.
Markmiðið er að fólk geti droppað við, fengið sér kaffi og spjallað, prjónað eða föndrað á staðnum allt eftir behag eða farið í göngutúr saman en leit stendur yfir að einhverjum sem gæti tekið að sér að skipuleggja stuttar göngur.
Við fögnum þeim sem vilja taka þátt og gerast sjálfboðaliðar og aðstoða okkur við þetta frábæra verkefni.

Accessibility:
There is a step before the garden gate and then 5 steps leading to the main entrance, each 17 cm high, door widths in the building vary between 50 cm (upstairs washroom door) and 80 cm (entrance door).
The bathrooms are so far only on the upper floor and in the basement. The door to the meeting room is 75 cm wide (as most other doors in the building). There is no bathroom on the ground floor.
Both washrooms in the building are gender neutral. The event takes place upstairs.
