Swap 'til you drop! (except don't swap, just take!) // Freeshopping spree

***English below***

****ENGLISH****

Do you need clothes for yourself? Baby clothes? Shoes? Books? Sportswear? Bedlinen? Clothes that can be used once and then disposed of (some of you know) ?

You will find all this and more in the freeshop in Andrými! The free shop is currently overflowing with stuff and it’s time to (re)distribute it. Come by on thursday, january 27th and see if you can find any treasures, before we take it and donate to the Red Cross’ clothing market where you then have to pay for the same stuff.

The house opens at 16:30 and closes at 18:30! Coffee and tea for donations.

What is a free shop? A free shop is a store where all goods are free. They are similar to charity shops with mostly second-hand items—only everything is available at no cost. Whether it is a book, a piece of furniture, a garment or a household item, it is all freely given away. The free shop is a form of constructive direct action that provides a shopping alternative to a monetary framework, allowing people to exchange goods and services outside of a money-based economy.

Why free shops? Free shops are common in anarchist spaces, as they resonate quite well with anarhist economics. Free shops are based on a gift economy, which is opposed to the capitalist market economy. Free shpos are is a good way for people to avoid participating (to the same extent) in consumer culture, overproduction and the destruction of the natural world that is caused by the capitalist market economy and its agents.
